Physical
During our Outdoor Play morning we explored in the s-s-s-sand.
Go outside on a walk with your child encourage him/her to collect natural objects and make a nature picture when you get home - snap a picture on your phone and show someone!

Knowledge
In our early literacy morning we learned about the letter “S”
Think about words you use everyday that start with the SSSS sound and share with your child.
|
Communication
We sang a counting song this week about salmon spawning.
Ask your child to teach you or another family member the song. Use socks as puppets...
|
Emotional
Traditionally the salmon symbolizes determination - this week we talked about always trying our hardest.
At home, watch for moments when your child is trying hard and not giving up. Be sure to tell them that you are proud when they persevere like the salmon spirit.

The Salmon Song
Down at the river when the leaves turn red,
there were 5 adult salmon in the spawning bed,
along came bear all alone,
and he caught one fish,
and he took it home.
|
Social
We are respectful when we sit during circle time listening to stories together.
Find time once a day to look through a book with your child - just looking at the pictures and talking together is a great way for young children to develop confidence.
